State Atomic Energy Corporation «Rosatom» and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam have signed a memorandum of intention to cooperate in the framework of the national nuclear energy development program.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov was present at the signing ceremony, which took place in Hanoi. He said that the Russian-Vietnamese cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy had quite good prospects.

«This document us paving the way for active work in this field,» Lavrov said. He also pointed out the Russian-Vietnamese cooperation in the oil and gas sector and, particularly, the successful work of Vietsovpetro.
