1993

Foreign Trade Organization “Safety” of the Federal Nuclear and Radiation Safety Authority of Russia (Gosatomnadzor of Russia) was established on September 28, 1993 (Certificate of the Moscow Registration Chamber, Series LI No. 007281, Order of Gosatomnadzor of Russia No. 96 dated 08.09.1993).

2001

Foreign Trade Organization “Safety” of Gosatomnadzor of Russia was renamed on January 04, 2001 as the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Foreign Trade Organization “Safety” of Gosatomnadzor of Russia (Registration Certificate No. 27167 of 04.01.2001).

2004

Amendments were made to the Statue of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Foreign Trade Organization “Safety” of Gosatomnadzor of Russia by Order of Gosatomnadzor of Russia No. 18 dated February 17, 2004. According to these amendments the Enterprise was renamed as the Federal State Unitary Enterprise VO “Safety” of Gosatomnadzor of Russia. The enterprise was established in order to ensure nuclear and radiation safety when designing, constructing, operating and decommissioning of nuclear facilities, as well as when supplying products for and earning profit as a result of economic activities.

2005

The Statute of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise VO “Safety” was approved by Order of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia (Rostechnadzor) No. 140 of March 11, 2005.

The Company has 12 branches established as per constitutive documents:

2009

North-Western Branch, Saint Petersburg, established on October 1, 2009; Veliky Novgorod Branch, Veliky Novgorod, established on September 24, 2009; Petrozavodsk Branch, Republic of Karelia, Petrozavodsk, established on September 24, 2009; Don Branch, Rostov Region, Volgodonsk, established on November 26, 2009; Volga Branch, Nizhny Novgorod, established on September 24, 2009;

2010

Perm Branch, Perm, established on March 23, 2010; Siberian Branch, Novosibirsk, established on November 26, 2010; Penza Branch, Penza, established on March 10, 2010;

2011

Ural Branch, Yekaterinburg, established on February 02, 2011;

2012

Krasnoyarsk Branch, Krasnoyarsk, established on October 26, 2012;

2013

Kazan Branch, Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan, established on January 15, 2013;

2014

Central Branch, Moscow, established on May 27, 2014.
In 2014, VO “Safety” and Bureau Veritas, an international company, established a joint venture named LLC “BVSafety”. Bureau Veritas is a world leader in testing, inspection and certification services. The organization was established in order to unite unique experience and capacities of its founders for more efficient solving of issues related to safety assurance in the atomic energy as well as other sectors of industry.

2016

The Federal State Unitary Enterprise VO “Safety” was restructured through transformation to the Joint Stock Company “VO “Safety” as per Civil Code of the Russian Federation and Federal Laws of 21.12.2001, namely: No. 178-FZ “On Privatization of State and Municipal Property” and of 26.12.1995, namely: No. 208-FZ “On Joint Stock Companies” by way of transformation of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise VO “Safety” based on Decree of the Russian Federation Government No. 1111-r of 01.07.2013, Order of the Federal Agency for State Property Management No. 368 of 02.12.2013 and Decree of the Territorial Division of the Federal Agency for State Property Management in Moscow No.1517 of 31.12.2016, which is its legal successor. The founder of the Company is the Russian Federation acting through the Federal Agency for State Property Management.

2017

Basing on the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, JSC “VO “Safety” is included into the List of Strategic Enterprises and Strategic Joint Stock Companies (Decree of RF President No. 463 of 05.10.2017).

2018

The Strategy of JSC “VO “Safety” Development till 2015 comprising the long-term development program activities was approved (minutes of the Company’s Board of Directors No. 10 of 18.06.2018). Two subsidiary companies were established: JSC “STROYCONTROL” registered in the Uniform State Register of Legal Entities on August 08 2018 and established to execute supervisory functions during construction of industrial and nuclear facilities, and JSC “TK “Safety”, which passed the state registration on 09.02.1218 and which was established to render the services as applied to all types of activities in the field of industrial safety.

The Company has been established for the unlimited time period.

Objectives of the Company’s Activities

Main objectives of the Company’s activities are:

  • compliance of the scientific and technical level of the Company with the long-term needs in technical and professional support of the activities carried out by the state supervisory body;
  • ensuring fulfillment by the Russian Federation of its international obligations related to assistance in development of nuclear safety regulatory infrastructure in the field of atomic energy use in the states importing nuclear power technologies;
  • enhancing the Company’s diversification level and industrial safety services’ market representation;
  • maintaining and improving the necessary set of competences in engineering and consulting activities in order to develop new segments in the field of industrial safety of present-day computer-aided high-tech production sectors;
  • improving competitiveness and investment prospects of the Company.
