In its Training and Methodological Center, the Krasnoyarsk Branch of JSC “VO “Safety” has arranged for its employees a training course on the safe techniques of first aid for individuals injured at work. The specialists of the Branch Office have developed an educational program, prepared training as well as testing and assessment materials. They have also selected professional literature and topical information and reference materials.

In class, trainees analyze various issues, for instance, who has the right and who must provide first aid, types of first aid to victims in case of accidents, traumas, intoxication as well as other conditions and health or life-threatening diseases before an ambulance team arrives. Special attention is paid at the heart attack first aid.

At the end of the training course, the employees involved into the educational process will take their end-of-course assessment in the form of a computer test, and they will get a professional development certificate.

According to Aleksander Matvievskiy, Deputy Director and Head of the Training and Methodological Center of the Krasnoyarsk Branch, teaching employees how to apply first aid techniques to help people injured at work is among responsibilities of the employer in the field of labor protection. “All the employees must learn to administer first aid, and some industrial regulations stress that certain works or the professional activity, in general, cannot be performed by employees who have not passed training and tests on the first aid rules. Generally, it is related to the organizations with hazardous industrial facilities and harmful production. Specific skills and knowledge in the field of first aid may be vital in case of emergency. To avoid serious mistakes when providing first aid, we have arranged a training course for our employees, and we suggest that employees of other organizations take the course in our Training and Methodological Center. The training is held in the Training and Methodological Center, and directly in the organizations. However, the latter requires from them to have organizational and technical means available (a trained instructor and respective facilities, including simulators to master the first aid techniques, etc.),” he added.
