Head of JSC “VO “Safety” Vladimir Tikhonov participated in discussions of nuclear safety regulation in Iran
31 may 2018May 28-29 – Head of the Iran Nuclear Regulatory Authority (INRA) Hojatollah Salehi had a meeting with the Chairman of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia (Rostechnadzor) Aleksey Aleshin who had a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Head of JSC “VO “Safety” Vladimir Tikhonov being a member of Rostechnadzor’s delegation took part in the event aimed at discussions of cooperation development prospects. At the meeting, he identified in his report possible areas of services to be rendered to the Iranian Nuclear Regulatory Authority during the construction of the Bushehr-2 NPP.
The meeting resulted in an agreement between JSC “VO “Safety” and the Iranian Nuclear Regulatory Authority to expand their cooperation significantly.
“We appreciate the trust you have placed in us and the opportunity to render comprehensive assistance to the Iran Nuclear Regulatory Authority. In its turn, JSC “VO “Safety” guarantees that further cooperation will bring good results in ensuring safety of nuclear facilities in Iran,” Vladimir Tikhonov said.
Since 1997, JSC “VO “Safety” has been providing full-scope technical support under the Bushehr-1 NPP construction project, including the development of a regulatory framework, consulting, review and assessment of documentation, conformity assessment and quality control of equipment manufacturing for the NPP
