The Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) held an inspection of activities by the Nuclear Power Plant Authority (NPPA) of Egypt at the El Dabaa NPP construction site, with the engagement of consultancy support by specialists of JSC “VO “Safety” (technical support organization of Rostechnadzor). A number of minor non-conformities were found as a result of the inspection of the site activities progress, technical documentation management, and functioning of the NPPA quality management system.

“We hold such inspections every year. The main goal is to confirm that safety is of the utmost priority in the site activities”, said Pavel Medvedev, Deputy Director General of JSC “VO “Safety”. “During the inspection, we evaluated the progress since the previous inspection (held in 2019) in relation to safety assurance, compliance with the legislative and regulatory requirements; we have identified strengths and weaknesses, as well as areas for improvement. Also, we have identified non-conformities, which NPPA has to eliminate by the next inspection. In the future, with the growth of the construction site activities, the regulator will hold such inspections more often,” he added.
