The Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) with the consultancy support from JSC “VO “Safety” (technical support organization of Rostechnadzor) issued the Construction Permit for El Dabaa NPP Unit No.1 to Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA). The decision had been taken based on the results of the review and assessment of the safety case documentation and following the inspection of the construction site.

As noted by Pavel Medvedev, the JSC “VO Safety” Deputy Director General, JSC “VO “Safety” renders full-scale assistance to ENRRA in the assurance of the highest safety standards during the construction of the nuclear power plant, including joint inspections at equipment manufacturing plants, under the contract concluded in 2019.
“In the nearest future we will arrange for the resident presence of our experts at the El Dabaa NPP construction site for rendering technical support to ENRRA inspectors overseeing the construction of the nuclear power plant”, – he added.
