The Board of the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) approved of the issuance of the Permit for the construction of Power Unit 3 of El Dabaa NPP to the Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA).

The decision was taken based on the results of the review and assessment of the safety case documentation for the NPP Unit 3, and following the inspection of the construction site.

As soon as the Permit is received, the first concrete will be poured in the foundation of Unit 3.

During the Board session, Dr. Samy Shabaan Ata-Allah, Chairman of ENRRA, expressed gratitude to JSC “VO “Safety” for the high level of technical support rendered for the issuance of the El Dabaa NPP Unit 3 Construction Permit.

As a reminder, JSC “VO “Safety” is rendering engineering and consultancy services to ENRRA under the Contract concluded in February 2019, for the assistance in ensuring the high safety standards in the course of the construction of the El Dabaa NPP.

The Regulatory Authority, ENRRA (Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority), started its activities in March 2012.
Board Members of ENRRA, the supreme management body, are nominated by the Prime-Minister and appointed by the President of Egypt. The Board determines the policy of the Regulatory Authority, makes binding decisions, grants licensees, approves rules and regulations, sets fees for licenses and permits.
