JSC “VO “Safety” performs acceptance of equipment that is produced by the main machine building enterprise of the Republic of Karelia, Petrozavodsk Branch of JSC AEM-technology, Petrozavodskmash. This company focuses on the manufacturing of the NPP main equipment.

A part of equipment produced by Petrozavodskmash for the first unit of the Turkish NPP is already at a high level of completion. Thus, completed vessels of the primary headers for steam generators were shipped to the Volgodonsk branch of JSC AEM-Technologies, Atommash. 5 billets of pipes were sent to Atommash for the reactor coolant pipeline (RCP); the pipes there will get the form of a sharp turn.  This operation is under the control of the Don Branch of JSC “VO “Safety”. After that, the parts will get back to Petrozavodsk for further treatment. Other piping billets for the RCP wait their turn there. Those billets have already got anti-corrosion weld plating and thermal treatment.

Petrozadoskmash also produces vessels of reactor coolant pumps for the Akkuyu NPP. Spherical vessels of the pumps passed through the machining treatment, and blades for distributors are ready. The manufacturing plant is busy with producing the equipment for the first and second units of the NPP in Turkey, and respective manufacturing orders have been opened for the third unit. The plant has signed procurement contracts for equipment to be installed at all the four units of the Akkuyu NPP.

JSC “VO “Safety” has its permanent representatives stationed in Petrozavodsk Branch of JSC AEM-technology, Petrozavodskmash. The experts perform acceptance of pressure vessels, vessels of pumps, pipelines, as well as pipeline valves for nuclear power plants. “We extensively involve young specialists into this work to let them acquire new knowledge, skills, experience, and as a result to become specialists of the highest qualification,” said Vladimir Tikhonov, Director General of JSC “VO “Safety”.
