JSC “VO “Safety” held a training course for representatives of embarking countries under the auspices of the IAEA

In the period of August 27 to 31, international training course “Safety Review and Assessment by the Regulatory Body” took place in Moscow. The course was arranged by JSC “VO “Safety” under IAEA technical cooperation project INT2018, “Supporting Knowledgeable Decision-making and Building Capacities to Start and Implement Nuclear Power Programmes”.

The objective of the course was to train and to introduce nuclear embarking countries to safety assessment and review for nuclear facilities.

Representatives of the following embarking countries took part in the event: Algeria, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Ghana, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Philippines.

Representatives of IAEA, JSC “VO “Safety”, and experts from Pakistan and South Korea were among the lecturers.

In conclusion, Director General of JSC “VO “Safety” Vladimir Tikhonov congratulated the participants with the completion of the course and handed over training certificates. “I’m sure that the knowledge you gained will be successfully implemented in practice, in the creation and development of nuclear infrastructure in your countries,” Vladimir Tikhonov noted.
