JSC “VO “Safety”, together with the Rostechnadzor representatives, took part in the 69th session of the IAEA General Conference within September 15 to 19, 2025 in Vienna, Austria.

During the meetings, strategic priorities for peaceful and safe use of nuclear energy, prospective collaboration between countries, and ensuring safety were discussed. A special focus was placed on the 80th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry.

The Russian delegatesparticipated in bilateral meetings with the senior management of nuclear safety regulatory authorities from Uzbekistan, China, Myanmar, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, and Brazil. In the course of negotiations, special attention was paid to the prospects for development of nuclear energy and importance of international cooperation.

Within the scope of the 69th session of the IAEA General Conference, the issues of regulating nuclear and radiation safety and providing consulting services during the construction of foreign projects – the El Dabaa NPP (Egypt) and Akkuyu NPP (Turkey implemented with active involvement of JSC “VO “Safety” – were discussed in the framework of bilateral meetings.

At the General Conference, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan confirmed its intention to expand cooperation with JSC “VO “Safety” to implement the project on construction of the country’s first nuclear power plant by signing a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation. The party is ready to keep the dialog open and combine efforts to implement projects aimed at the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
