Experts of the Ural office branch of JSC “VO “Safety” (technical support organization of Rostechnadzor) headed by director of the branch Yuri Dvoryankin inspected PJSC Uralmashplant (UZTM) and confirmed its preparedness to start manufacturing first four low-capacity cranes for the Akkuyu NPP. Representatives of the general contractor for the construction of the NPP, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 and JSC AKKUYU NUKLEAR also took part in the inspection.

“The inspection checked technological capacities of Uralmashplant; it confirmed the plant has engineering and technical documentation which is required for the manufacturing of the load-lifting equipment; and it has a functioning quality management system as well as certificates issued by the Turkish Nuclear Regulatory Authority. Based on the results of the inspection, we can say with confidence that the plant is fully prepared to begin the manufacturing of the equipment for the first Turkey’s nuclear power plant,” said Yuri Dvoryankin.

According to Natalia Kostina, director for the nuclear and load-lifting equipment of PJSC Uralmashplant, experts of JSC “VO “Safety” will monitor the manufacturing of the equipment. She noted: “Representatives of this organization will be constantly at the manufacturing plant monitoring all the stages of the production process.”

As a reminder: back in 2018 the Turkish Nuclear Regulatory Agency issued to JSC “VO “Safety” its certificate giving the right to conduct control for the manufacturing of products for the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. The organization works at 70 Russian and 18 foreign enterprises, as well as at 6 manufacturing plants of the neighboring states that produce components for the power units under construction of the first Turkish NPP.
