Specialists of JSC “VO “Safety” (technical support organization of Rostechnadzor checked the readiness of Italian manufacturer Forgiatura Moderna Arese S.p.A. To launch the manufacture of forging shafts and retaining rings for the engines of the reactor coolant pump set for the Kursk-2 NPP.

The inspection checked whether national permission documents are available and in compliance for the manufacture and engineering of equipment for nuclear facility, the relevance of the quality management system, management procedures for the detailed design documentation (hereinafter referred to as the DDD) and the availability of the accounted set of the DDD which is needed to manufacture products; the availability of the results of the conformity assessment in the form of tests, etc.
Based on the results of the inspection, specialists of JSC “VO “Safety” noted that the production facilities of the manufacturing plant are completely ready to start production of the equipment.

As a reminder: forging is an intermediate product of metallurgy obtained by plastic deformation of metal. The main feature of a forging is its resemblance to a future part or product in size and shape.
