In February, specialists of the Headquarters of JSC “VO “Safety” whether BOPP & Reuther Valves GmbH (Mannheim, Germany) is ready for the start of production of the main safety valve of safety class 2 according to NP-001-15 for unit 1 of the Kola NPP (a branch of JSC Concern Rosenergoatom).

The production activity of BOPP&Reuther Valves GmbH was checked during the inspection: technological capabilities of the company; appropriate qualifications and certification of specialists of production, instrumentation and testing laboratories; availability and compliance of the required technical documentation; functioning of the quality management system, etc. Based on the inspection results, specialists of JSC “VO “Safety” noted that the German company is completely ready to start production of the equipment.

Let us recall that the main safety valve serves to ensure automatic protection of the primary circuit equipment and pipelines against inadmissible overpressure by dumping the working fluid at unit 1 of the Kola NPP with a VVER-440 type reactor.
