On 4 August, a working meeting was held at the office of JSC “VO “Safety” with a delegation from the Utilities Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Rwanda (RURA), as well as with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Embassy).

The foreign specialists arrived for an introductory visit to learn Russia’s experience in ensuring nuclear and radiation safety. As a scientific and technical support organization for Rostechnadzor, JSC “VO “Safety” briefed the colleagues on its key competencies, including safety review and conformity assessment (inspection activities) of equipment for nuclear power plants.

During the meeting, JSC “VO “Safety” presented its extensive experience in supporting major international nuclear power plant construction projects, as well as its capabilities in training and educating personnel of national regulators in countries that are embarking on developing their own nuclear infrastructure.

Representatives of RURA and the Embassy highly appreciated the demonstrated scientific and technical potential and expressed strong interest in further exchange of experience and the development of bilateral cooperation.
