The II Forum of Nuclear Industry Suppliers “ATOMEX” will be held in the World Trade Center (Moscow) on December 7–8, 2009. Its goal is to involve new suppliers in the Rosatom’s procurement system, inform them on the uniform procurement system adopted at the nuclear industry entities and organizations.

The Forum of Nuclear Industry Suppliers will be attended by top executives of management companies of the industry, as well as representatives of engineering companies, operating and maintenance divisions of nuclear power plants. In addition to the industry companies, the Forum and Exhibition will be participated by more than 180 supplier-companies.

At 14:30 the conference hall Amphiteatr will host the plenary session of the forum “Nuclear Industry: Procurement Policy” which list of speakers includes Director General of the State Corporation “Rosatom” Sergey Kiriyenko, Executive Director of JSC Atomenergoprom Kirill Komarov, Director of the Rosatom Procurement Center Andrey Rakhmaninov, First Deputy Director General of Rosenergoatom Concern Vladimir Asmolov, Vice President of JSC Atomstroyexport Timur Bavlakov and other officials of nuclear industry companies. The Forum program also includes a number of section and round-table sessions on issues topical for the modern nuclear power development, such as “Engineering and Project Management of NPP Construction”, “Long-lead Equipment” etc.

The Forum business program includes a Plenary Session, conference, round-table sessions for suppliers covering issues related to preparation of technical, regulatory and other documents for accreditation of an entity as a nuclear equipment supplier, topical sessions on specific products being supplied, and workshops with presentations of capabilities by suppliers. December 7 at 14:00 an opening ceremony of the exhibition in the frameworks of the Forum will be held.

The Forum of Nuclear Industry Suppliers “ATOMEX” is expected to become the main ground for organizing the work with nuclear industry suppliers. The Forum will be held with the support provided by SC Rosatom and JSC Atomenergoprom.

The Forum is directly related to the reforming of the procurement activities of SC Rosatom and all enterprises and entities of the nuclear industry. It is planned to ensure effective use of investment resources both by SC Rosatom and all other nuclear industry enterprises in the construction and operation of nuclear facilities through the application of the Uniform Industry-wide Procurement Standard. SC Rosatom has been one of the first entities to make a serious step towards transparency of procurement within the nuclear industry.

Top executives and representatives of SC Rosatom, JSC Atomenergoprom, Rosenergoatom Concern, nuclear power plants, JSC Atomstroyexport, industry’s engineering companies and other nuclear enterprises, as well as specialists from partner-organizations and potential suppliers will take part in the work of the Forum.

The Forum is held already for the second time. Its goals are the enhancement of investment efficiency during construction and operation of nuclear facilities, ensuring transparency of procurement procedures in nuclear industry, and enhancement of interaction effectiveness with existing and potential suppliers.
