The mayors of the towns and villages situated near Bohunice NPP (Slovakia) visited Leningrad NPP on June 18 2009.
The Slovak guests visited Sosnovy Bor (the satellite city of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant), met with the head of the local administration Dmitry Pulyayevsky and exchanged experience with the mayors of the towns situated near Leningrad NPP.
The visit was organized by ATOMPROF, with the support of the European Nuclear Society and the Department for Contacts with Public Organizations and Regions of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation.
Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant is the branch of Energoatom Concern OJSC (100% subsidiary of Atomenergoprom OJSC). It is situated in Sosnovy Bor, 80km west of St.Petersburg on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. It is the country’s first nuclear power plants with RBMK-1000 (graphite-moderatedchannel-type reactor). It has four 1,000MW reactors.
