The major discussion was about the practical implementation of the provisions of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the Peaceful Use of Atomic Energy signed by Russia and Uzbekistan and effective since April 1, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Creation of the national infrastructure is considered to be among the priorities of the cooperation alongside with staff training to work in the nuclear industry as well as construction and maintenance of an NPP and research reactors in Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n<p>Uzbekistan is now selecting a site for NPP construction. \u00a0The Russian party proposes to construct a plant of two modern generation \u201c3+\u201d power units of VVER-1200 type in Uzbekistan.
