The plant has launched the manufacturing of a set of hydraulic accumulators for the passive core flooding system (PCFS) for Uni1 of Kursk NPP-2.<\/p>\n<p>The assembly and welding shop has produced the first billet for the PCFS shell. A sheet of 13,000 mm was welded out of two billets of stainless steel rolled sheets of 2,500 mm width and 6,500 mm length. The bending and forming machine rolled a cylinder out of the billet. The internal diameter of the cylinder is 4,120 mm.\u00a0Three shells of this type are required to produce a PCFS, while the full set of the PCFS for one NPP unit consists of 8 accumulators of this type.<\/p>\n<p>The passive core passive flooding system is one of the most critical elements of NPP safety systems.
