{"id":11873,"date":"2015-08-11T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-08-11T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vo.afonico-test.ru\/novosti-otrasli\/containment-tests-completed-at-fuqing-3\/"},"modified":"2015-08-11T12:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-08-11T09:00:00","slug":"containment-tests-completed-at-fuqing-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vosafety.ru\/en\/novosti-otrasli\/containment-tests-completed-at-fuqing-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Containment tests completed at Fuqing 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>Containment pressure tests have been successfully completed at unit 3\u00a0of the Fuqing nuclear power plant in China\u2019s Liaoning province.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>A series of tests to demonstrate that the containment building, which houses the reactor primary circuit, is leak-tight and pressure-resistant were completed on 6\u00a0August, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) announced today.<\/p>\n<p>Analysis of strength tests showed changes in the parameters of the containment structure within the scope of the acceptance criteria, while tightness tests showed the leak rate also met the required criteria, CNNC said.<\/p>\n<p>The company said, \u201cThe trial is the first large-scale comprehensive test on the nuclear island of unit 3, and the success of the test verifies the integrity and reliability of the unit\u2019s safety barrier, guaranteeing the safe operation of unit 3\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>CNNC\u2019s Fuqing plant will eventually house six Chinese-designed PWRs, the first four being 1087\u00a0MWe CPR-1000\u00a0pressurized water reactors. Unit 1\u00a0started up in July 2014, was connected to the grid the following month and entered commercial operation in November. Unit 2\u00a0achieved first criticality last month and is expected to enter commercial operation later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Ground was broken in June 2009\u00a0for Fuqing unit 3\u00a0and 4. Unit 3\u00a0should begin operation in late-2015, while unit 4\u00a0is scheduled to start up in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s State Council gave final approval for construction of Fuqing units 5\u00a0and 6\u00a0in mid-April. First concrete was poured for the fifth unit in May.
