{"id":11583,"date":"2010-10-15T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-15T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vo.afonico-test.ru\/novosti-otrasli\/another-bellefonte-contract\/"},"modified":"2010-10-15T12:00:00","modified_gmt":"2010-10-15T09:00:00","slug":"another-bellefonte-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vosafety.ru\/en\/novosti-otrasli\/another-bellefonte-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Bellefonte contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>Babcock and Wilcox (B&amp;W) has been contracted to design and build two steam generators for Bellefonte unit 1, pending a final decision by Tennessee Valley Authority on the completion of the partially constructed reactor.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The announcement comes one week after Areva was selected for work including the \u201dengineering, licensing and procurement of long lead time materials in support of a possible start-up date in the 2018\u20139\u00a0timeframe.\u201d One part of that work is a digital instrumentation and control system.<\/p>\n<p>Despite no formal board decision on whether to go ahead with its preferred option of completing the pressurized water reactor, TVA has set aside $248\u00a0million in its fiscal 2011\u00a0budget for work towards that aim. The official decision by the board, which would trigger B&amp;W to start work, should come in the first half of 2011.<\/p>\n<p>B&amp;W\u2019s once-through steam generators are scheduled to be delivered to the site in 2015\u00a0if the go ahead is given. Weighing just less than 500\u00a0tonnes each, they which will be manufactured in B&amp;W\u2019s Cambridge facility in Ontario, Canada.
